Company Profile

Health Care and Development Corporation of the Philippines (HC&D) was established in 1978 with the primary objective of providing comprehensive health care plans to individuals and groups/corporate employees, and customized plans for students. As one of the pioneers in the industry, HC&D has withstood the many challenges the industry faced during its evolution and development. HC&D was able to establish a name for itself focused on acquiring its share of the market in the South Luzon Area. Building on more than forty (40) years of solid experience as a healthcare services provider, HC&D has designed and engineered various healthcare plans and packages to respond and address the health concerns of its target constituencies.

As a milestone in 2013, HC&D launched its brand, UNISHIELD Health Care. UNISHIELD Health Care partnered with Advanced Medical Access Philippines, Inc. (AMAPHIL) to use Point-of-sale (POS) terminals in hospitals and clinics thru its network of over 15,000 primary physicians, specialists and sub-specialists in more than 900 affiliated medical institutions, clinics and service units nationwide. UNISHIELD Health Care (HC&D) has fully-computerized its operations to keep up with the rapidly changing technology. Our network provider (AMAPHIL) is powered by technology via mobile application (accessible for both android and iOS) for faster and more efficient processing of transactions. Health care services are efficiently accessed through this mobile app, or via the AMAPHIL hotline service, fulfilling its commitment of total quality service for its valued clients – 24/7. Through these initiatives, HC&D aims to establish itself as one of the pre-eminent professional health care providers in the country, providing a cost-effective and prompt and efficient servicing of its clients.

HC&D is a subsidiary of the University of Perpetual Help System - DALTA which counts health care, education and property development among its core business interests. The DALTA system owns four (4) hospitals, four (4) universities, real estate, resorts/hotels, restaurants, a bank, a travel agency, a manpower agency and a Health Maintenance Organization (HC&D), among others.

This 2019, HC&D is embarking on a re-branding program to further unify and strengthen its place in the DALTA Group. We are finalizing our new brand name DALTA Health Care and are fully complying with the Insurance Commission requirements for HMO, of which HC&D was duly registered as a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) as of June 21, 2018.
